Carrello: I guess written documentation could swing either way at this point.  But the idea that written documentation is even being presented to Maliki is encouraging.

Enorrste:  I agree with you, Carello.  This could be the crack in the dam for Maliki if it can be shown that he was involved directly in the corruption.  It could well lead to impeachment hearings against him.  Time will tell.

BlueyesinLevis:  This is just one aspect of how badly things are going for maliki.  He has no alliances left. There are documents now showing he stole about 7 billion dinar a year since 2006.. over 42 billion total.  Yeah.. there is more stuff happening in the last few weeks than we have seen all year.The UN... IMF.. and US are climbing all over the Iraqi scene  Dig it..

Received the Commander in Chief of the armed forces of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki written questions from the parliamentary committee responsible for investigating suspicions of corruption in the arms deal from Russia.

Committee member said Jaafar al-Moussawi told all of Iraq [where] on Saturday that "the investigative committee has sent several written questions to the prime minister on Russian arms deal and that the Commission waiting to be answered," without disclosing the nature of the questions.

The government has signed a number of arms deals with the State of Russia and the Czech Republic during a visit by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to them.

The government decided to re-negotiate with Moscow on the arms deal which was canceled after suspicions of corruption, and sent a negotiating team confirmed it moves in the new purchase weapons to protect the country's security and sovereignty.
